日韓をベースに、アジア全体を巻き込んだ実力派グループとして活躍する東方神 起。2008年は「Purple Line」、「Beautiful you/千年恋歌」、「どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう？」、「呪文-MIROTIC-」と4作連続オリコンチャート1位という記録を成し遂 げ、日本でも確実に音楽シーンの重要な位置を占めるトップアーティストとして成長した1年でもあった。初の大規模な全国アリーナツアーとなった “TOHOSHINKI 3rd LIVE TOUR 2008 ～T～”では、チケットが争奪戦状態となり、会場に足を運べずに涙を呑んだファンも少なくなかった。

2009 年も彼らはその歩みを止めることはない。1月21日に発売されたシングル「Bolero / Kiss The Sky Baby / 忘れないで」は、当然のごとくチャート1位に登り詰めて、現在もヒット中だ。絶妙なコーラスワークで壮大な世界観を歌った「Bolero」に加え、残り2 曲はメンバー自身が作詞作曲を手がけたことでも大きな話題をさらっている。アーティストとしての大きな成長を感じさせる1枚といえよう。

さらに昨年に引き続いて大規模なアリーナツアーも敢行されることがアナウンスされた。5月9～10日のさいたまスーパーアリーナ公演のほか、全国8会場14公演という規模は、昨年のツアーよりさらにスケールアップしたものとなる。

おそらくこのツアーを前にして、待望のニューアルバムもリリースされると思われるが、その内容も今から期待度が高まる。ティーングループから20代の男性ユニットに成長した彼らだけに、今まで見せてこなかった新たな魅力を放ってくれるはずだ。
